Auto Fun Digest – SpeedUpTraffic.org

Whether you are an insanely overpaid rookie who has yet to prove anything in the realm of professional sports or a seasoned veteran who has won championships and been selected to All-Star games, chances are you have the means and the desire to purchase a car that reflects how you see yourself. Athletes and cars were made for each other. The flash, pizazz, and sometimes illusion of greatness is what oftentimes connect the two.

So here is our list of the most ridiculous cars that have been sported by our nation’s professional athletes.

Darren McFadden -- Ford Crown Victoria

The top pick of the Oakland Raiders two years ago, Running Back Darren McFadden has all-star qualities that may have not shown up on an NFL field yet but have definitely manifested themselves in his very loud Ford Crown Victoria. As you can see, this ride sits unnaturally high above the asphalt. McFadden’s wheels also sports the red colors of his alma mater, the University of Arkansas. Perhaps driving around in Razorback colors will one day help him play like he did when he was wearing a Razorback helmet.

Chipper Jones -- Ford F-150

Chipper Jones has played third baseman for the Atlanta Braves for the past 16 seasons. He is a World Series champion, a six time All-Star, former National League MVP, batting champion, and silver slug award winner and he drives a Ford F-150. Yes, that’s right, the same truck that your friend’s dad drives is also the same car that modern day baseball legend Chipper Jones drives. It is a rare thing these days to find such a modest set of wheels in the hands of someone who can afford the very best.

LeBron James -- Ferrari F430 Spider

There is no question that LeBron James has cemented his status as one of the top two or three most talented players in the NBA today. From his multi-million dollar contract to his numerous contracts and endorsements, most notably with Nike, LeBron was a household name before he could even drink alcohol legally. That is why it’s a little surprising that “King James” as he referred to himself in the video posted above, settles on a very nice, although underwhelming Ferrari. Regardless, we’re sure that this specific model provided the most room for his multiple “L23″ logo.

There you have it. From the undeservedly flashy “Crown Vic” touted by Darren McFadden to the unexpectedly humble pick-up driven by Chipper Jones to the product placement and marketing machine that is LeBron’s Ferrari, we have covered our bases on what happens when professional athletes meet cars.
